Scrapbooking with flowers, ribbons and all things beautiful -- with BOYS!

If you're like me, a Mother to Boys and a little more then addicted to scrapbooking - the paper, ribbons, flowers, buttons, glitter, you might be wondering how to incorporate all those finds into the perfect layout! I'm here to help! At least, I'll try. I've been scrapbooking for about 8 years and have only recently decided I was done with holding back on all the beautiful embellishments and am going to start using them. Hope you enjoy my journey!

Bella Creations....such beautiful inspiration!

I've recently discovered a new blog - challenge site.  They have the most amazing prizes, delicious challenges and just so much going on there.  I'd love to keep it all to myself, but obviously it's so great you are bound to discover it...sooner or later, so I guess I am here to help you get there sooner!

'Tres Chic' Vintage Challenge for this month.

Here's a couple of challenges I participated in, just this month.  There is so much going on there and I love the idea of learning new techniques.  I have never done much with vintage, but I do just love it.  So, check out there samples and try it out!  You are bound to find something there.  And, did I mention the prizes?

This challenge was to use a 'vintage inspired print' and so what better photo than this one, circa 1913, of my Great Grandmother and her sister.  I just think it is so wonderful how these two sisters grew up and married brothers!  Yes, they married the Miller brothers, Ed and Henry.  Delia and Ed were married over 62 years, with 3 children, 13 grand children and 23 great grandchildren and I think I've lost count of the great great great grandchildren.  Pretty amazing story.

Bella Muse March Challenge

This challenge was to use the 'Bella Muse' print for inspiration.  Never having scrapped a 'print', this was a lot of fun.  I decided to do some extra work towards my Soul Restoration and designed this Truthteller card for myself.

So, what are you waiting for?  Go have some fun!

Webster's Pages - Inspire ME Banner of the Week!

I can't tell you how much it meant today to get news that my little digital layout was chosen as Banner of the Week!  I absolutely love everything Webster's and to be chosen to be a part of the blog, well, I was overwhelmed to tears.  What a tremendous day:)

My Happy Place....a layout for my sister

I created this layout for my sister, Monique.  I just love how safe and happy Wyatt looks here, in his Happy Place with Auntie.  Thought it was a very fitting layout to share on the 1st day of Spring!
These are some hand created roses, nestled in with a few Prima roses.

The paper is Webster's Pages, Sweet Seasons collection.  I also added a bit of bling and shine with some of the new Prima Marketing line.

Happy SPRING!!!!

My Lil Cuppy Cake....another Webster's Pages Challenge

Webster's Pages has just caught my eye this month!

Another wonderful challenge and the most beautiful lines!  They have some of the most beautiful new collections and of course, some great ones from this past season.  The collection I'm using here is Sweet Seasons, and what could be better to highlight My Lil Cuppy Cake Wyatt here.  I could just eat his sweet little cheeks!

Have you ever used gold leafing?  This is the first time I've tried it and I just LOVE how it came out!  I picked up this new little crafting tip over at Brave Girls Club, along with mod podge, paint and so much more.  Here's how I did it.  I used a fine tip paint brush, mod podge and the gold leafing.  I put a very thin line of mod podge, laid down the gold leafing and then brushed away the excess using another paint brush -- I use rough strokes to get rid of any extra.

Now my butterfly here is my favorite part of the page.  I took one of the Webster's sticker outlines, and laid it down on the paper here.  I cut out the butterfly and then took a small strip of paper.
I wound the paper tight around my paintbrush so that it would hold its shape.  This paper was perfect because it made an amazing spring like coil.  I adhered the strip to the butterfly and voila - it's floating above the flowers on my page.  You'll see I also added some gold leafing to the small string of pearls I place on my butterfly.

Wondering how I made these delicious confetti cupcakes?  I used the leftovers from the punch I used to make the curtain at the top.  I then took some of my Beacon's glue and swirled it on the cut out cupcakes, and sprinkled on the goodness!

And of course, there's my Sweet Lil Cuppy Cake sign...you might recognize the design - it's Webster's again!  This is one of the new Digi designs, Country Estate, and I changed the color and added the font, added a touch of gold and I think it worked out perfect!
Close up of the cutting -- recently discovered the glass cutting board -- LOVE IT!!!!

Hope you enjoyed it! Come on over and see what the other folks have created! There are some truly amazing artists!

WEBSTERS has gone digital!!!

I had to play with some of the new digital papers from Webster's Pages.  Since I absolutely adore all of their lines, but most especially the new Country Estate and Spring Market lines, I decided to indulge myself and try out the digital mode of scrapbooking.    They did not disappoint!  Look at this yummy layout I made of my Sparkey!  Here's what you need to know about digital scrapbooking, all those beautiful Webster's details you enjoy - the flowers, the birds, the everything?  Well, by selecting them, using the 'lasso' or 'magic wand' approach, you can copy and paste them - anywhere you want on your layout.  I did this with the geranium flowers, yellow roses and large white rose, to build out my border of flowers at the bottom here.  I am not an expert with digital by any means, but with papers and digital prints like this - how can you go wrong?  So go on - have fun - and try digital!

Inspiration.....ARTastic Challenge Blog

I like to participate in blogs...I think they are exactly what I need to move on something, probably something that was stuck just below the surface of my scrapbooking mind and wanting to come out anyway.  This week, I decided to use my scrapbook layout as my own inspiration for a poem.  I play along with some of those blogs too, you see.

The Greatest Show On Earth

Look around and you will see a playful world for you and me!
Open your eyes, sweet little man, and know that you can  - you can!
You can fly to the moon,
Swing through the air,
Walk upon a high wire,
Whatever you Dare!
Whatever you want, my sweet little prince, I will catch you and kiss you good night.
I will sing to the stars and turn out the lights.
I will be there, my little love, because you are...
My Greatest Show on Earth.

The Circus Horse by Marc Chagall

This month, I'm a Guest Designer over at ARTastic Challenge Blog!  We used this painting for inspiration.

I had so much fun incorporating my family into the mix of a carnival scene.

Owen was perfect to launch from the cannon!  Myself, I perched on a swing (see me above the cannon?), high above the show taking it all in.

And sweet Wyatt, isn't he perfect on a high wire?  He is so funny!  And we can't forget Mike, now can we?  He's the perfect side kick to my goofy little Owen!

My mod podge flower made of string and bling!
I also used some new techniques this month - mod podge and tissue paper!  I have been deep into my Soul Restoration course and everything is mod podge, so naturally a little of that gooey stuff had to flow in here.
My cute little guys!

I'm giving away goodies at ARTastic this month - so come play along!

Glee Club - Week 3 - EVERYBODY DANCE!

It's week 3 of Glee Club and this week we were challenged to use a children's song for our title.  Now, my boys are 6 and 9 and they are not that much into children's tunes, but they sure do like music - especially Wyatt!  He also loves to dance, and so the title, EVERYBODY DANCE, was perfect for these crazy shots I took of him having a blast busting some moves to Replay.

Notice his signature look, the one sock.
We spent nearly a year calling him, 'Wyatt One Sock' because of it.  Just couldn't figure out why or how he would always end up with one sock on and one sock off.

Next, the hat.  No, it's not a designer hat, although I can see why you might be confused - hahahaha.  Gigi sent him this hat and I guess it inspired him to hit the floor.  I wondered if he would try a handstand, as why not, with all that cushion!

I love to listen to Wyatt sing.  He has a great voice and easily remembers the words to any song that comes on the radio.  I incorporated the words into the tag, as when he's older, I know seeing them will quickly bring back this tune for him.

Looking at these photos, I can't help but smile at just what an awesome kid Wyatt is!  I just love his smile, his quirky moves and the easy way he goes about everything he does.  I hope he never loses his funky style and love of fun!

Enjoy!

Glee Club - Week 2 - ALTERNATIVE!!!

If you know me at all, you know that I love ALTERNATIVE rock.  There has always been something that has drawn me to it, much more so than the upbeat hip hop rock you catch on the mainstream channels.  I just like its 'soulful' sound and the way so many of these artists just belt out the words that seem to play in my own head and heart.  So, that being said, I was thrilled that this week's Glee Club was Alternative music.  Now, for myself, I'd say that TRAIN, as much as I like them, is just not in the same league as what I call alternative, but hey, I'll take what I can get!  I know my music likes are just not in sync with the rest of the world, so this is probably as close as I'm going to get.

My layout here, 'You Already Know How Much I Love You', is my tribute to alternative music.  It's a complete alternative to how I'd normally scrap and really helped shed some of those restrictions I typically place on myself.  There's no fluff, no flowers, no ribbon or bows.  It's paint and birds and yes, cars!  I wanted it to be messy, and so here it is!  It's about being REAL.  Yes, that's a kooky Santa Hat Wyatt is wearing, and the reds in his shirt and chapped lips just make him the sweetest thing I could ever imagine.  Not to mention how he tells me everyday, "Mommy, I love you soo much I want to marry you!" Who could resist that?

Then there's Owen, rockin' his crazy faces for the camera.  Once in a while though, if I work real hard I'll catch that 10,000,000 dollar smile of his and it just makes me so happy.  This is life, and if there's one thing they already know, is just how much I love them!

GLEE CLUB - Challenge 1 - Classic Rock'n Roll

When I think of Classic Rock 'n Roll I can't help but go back in time to when I was about 8 - 10 years old.  We had a record player in our 'rumpus room' - did anyone else have one of those?  It seems like someone had given us a bunch of albums, there was the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Ricky Nelson...oh yes, Ricky Nelson.  I would just listen to the song 'It's Late' over and over again.  I remember dancing and playing and running around in circles, just spinning to 'the Yellow Submarine' and then crashing into a stupor with 'Sounds of Silence'.  Nowadays, I'm mostly into alternative, but as I did this challenge, all I did was hum away to those old classic rock songs of my youth.

Here's my layout!  Perhaps those little chicks and crazy butterfly will bring back some flashes of your youth!  Nowadays, my days are filled with Wyatt's singing....he loves to sing!  And my album, if I had one, would rock Owen and Wyat, coffee and snuggles...Mike would probably share the lead  lead vocals with me -- and the cats, they'd be our back up dancers.

Enjoy your music and check out what's going on over at Soul Scrappers Glee Club!

GCD Studios -- Butterfly Garden Fun

I used the GCD Studios Ava line of papers here to capture all the beauty we saw down at the Boston Museum of Science Butterfly Garden.  I just loved how we captured Owen's beautiful blue eyes smiling in wonder as the butterfly, one of the only ones to land, flocked to Dad's behind:) To frame that photo, I used Pink Paislee's houndstooth tape.  I hope you like it!

I hope I've inspired you to get started on your own creation! If not, check out my etsy shop for more inspiration! http://www.tiffanyscrapbooks.com/

Soul Scrappers Challenge...SNOW FUN

I took some time, away from the house cleaning I'm supposed to be doing, the work that I should be doing and the scrapbook that I have been hired to do...yes, I just wanted to scrap this picture of me and the boys!  I just love their little bundled up faces.  I took a bunch of photos this late afternoon when we were playing outdoors, all I just adore!  This one, Mike took, and it was so funny because his hands were steaming from throwing snowballs that it kept messing with the picture.  I still love it.

If you want a little inspiration, you really should hop on over to Soul Scrappers -- there are a gazillion challenges, games and fun things to get you going for the new year.  Hope to see you there!
