Scrapbooking with flowers, ribbons and all things beautiful -- with BOYS!

If you're like me, a Mother to Boys and a little more then addicted to scrapbooking - the paper, ribbons, flowers, buttons, glitter, you might be wondering how to incorporate all those finds into the perfect layout! I'm here to help! At least, I'll try. I've been scrapbooking for about 8 years and have only recently decided I was done with holding back on all the beautiful embellishments and am going to start using them. Hope you enjoy my journey!

Monday's Child

I've always loved poetry - but I must say, I've been more then a little cramped up in this area lately.  So thrilled to stumble across this - Monday's Child - a blog that helps to inspire wonderful lines of poetry.

Here's what I came up with based on the photo.
Let me know what you think!

Up, up and away, you fly,

Little child of mine,

With your head held high.

Far, far and away, you’ll go

You’ll make your path,

Here’s what you should know.

Take heed of the thunder,

Put your back to the wind,

And play hard in the summer

You were made for this!

Thanks for stopping by!

While Mike's away, it's time for SCRAPBACK!

This week has been a busy week, with work, school for the boys and Mike away on a trip, and yet, I must say, it's all been very calm - especially around 8pm when I've put the boys to bed and there's nothing but quiet around me and I can drift on down to my scrapbooking room!  Hee hee - what are we going to create tonight?  So, it didn't take me long to pick out a few good pictures of old Cote Bear (yes, again) to include in the ARTASTIC challenge.  I wasn't too sure about that whole Frida picture, but once again, the inspiration worked.  I mean, seriously, you might notice on my journaling tag that these photos are from 1998! I mean, what have I been waiting for?  And the orange flower, I've probably had that in my stash of goodies for atleast 3 years....but then again, who's counting?

Now my challenge to you, should you take me on, is to create your own layout using pictures from a decade or more ago.  Go on, dig into the pile and see what types of treasure you turn up? Can you remember the moment?  Take the time and put a few notes down on the paper and give yourself a huge pat on the back!  You've managed a 'SCRAPBACK'.  Ok, I'm guessing that word won't catch on, but I thought it was funny!

Leave me a note and let me know if you took me up on the challenge - I'd love to see your pages, and comments, please!

I hope I've inspired you to get started on your own creation! If not, check out my etsy shop for more inspiration! http://www.tiffanyscrapbooks.com/

Scrap your CHRISTMAS Crap! FUN!

So seriously, I am really not that much of a christmas scrapper.  But, I do love the christmas papers as much as the next scrapper and yes, do have quite a collection (gathering dust, or whatever gathers while it rests neatly in those cropper hoppers).  I decided I had to do another challenge tonight and there it was, waiting for me at Scrap your crap - a challenge that would help me get a page done and use some of that christmas stash!  You needed to use green and red, and here I even threw in some of my green foil embellishments (that I bought and have never used for christmas themed layouts) and some Christmas letters.  Hee haw!

So, here it is, a page inspired by my brother, who much to my dismay, just did not really care for my BIG dog, Cote Bear.  Now I know, Cote Bear was alot of dog, I mean, he was a dog's dog!  And unfortunately, Jared just happened to meet him in his prime, and well, let's just say 80 pounds of dog, lots of sharp puppy teeth, and a chaotic amount of energy did not mix well with Jared.  So, imagine my suprise when he announces he's going to get a big dog of his own - a GREAT DANE!  Yes, you did read that right, a Great Dane.  As much as I wanted to say, I told you not to get a big dog, I just can't. The big dog is great, and I it kind of makes me want a big Great Dane of my own!   He's huge, that's for sure, but he's all heart!

So, this is my christmas salute to big dogs everywhere, like Cote and Duke!   My Cote Bear is now gone, but I learned one thing -- big dogs may be a lot of work, but they sure do fill a BIG place in your heart!

Dusty Attic....ROSE

I know it's been some time since I've posted, but I'm back to work and life has taken on a full spin!  The boys are both playing soccer and had a wonderful game weekend, while we had some friends over for a BBQ.  Today, at last, I found a few quiet moments to tidy up my scrapbook room and work on a new page.  I was up and running when I saw the Dusty Attic Sketch inspiration this week and decided to dig up an old photo....one of my Grandmother as a baby.  I just love how they adorned the little ones back then, head to toe in white lace and even the chair was covered in lace.

Dusty Attic is another one Australian based company that makes the most delightful laser cut chipboard.  The more I discover about scrapbooking, the more I long to travel to Australia.  I mean, it just seems to me that so much that I love originates from there, making it very hard to find here in the US.

Having only a few pieces of Dusty Attic, I took a frame and cut it into the 3 black pieces you see here on my layout.  It worked much better to place them apart then leave it whole with this layout.  I used my wonderful Webster's rose ribbon, and a few roses I got in my latest Creative Scrapbook kit.  The paper, which I absolutely adore, is Fancy Pants.  Just lovely.

Hope you like it!
